Waspada.co.id April 6, 2014 reported that PT . Perusahaan Listrik Negara ( PLN ) requires more coal from 17.5 million tonnes in the first – quarter of 2014 to fulfill fuel plants of PLN or power plants owned subsidiary of PLN.
Helmi Najamudin , Head of Coal Division PLN deliver , for year 2014 , the company needed up to 78.5 million tons of coal , and he said the number had increased compared to last year which only needs 57.4 million tons .
” This year’s ride needs a fairly large , it is almost up 15 % and the largest coal supply of Adaro Indonesia and Arutmin , ” said Helmi weekend .
In addition Adaro coal supplier PLN subscription is Kideco Jaya Agung, Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC), Arutmin Indonesia, Bukit Asam, Lanna Harita, Dwi Guna Laksana, Jorong Baruna, Oktasan, Batara Batari Sinergy Nusantara, dan Kasih Industri Nusantara.
Helmi said , the increase in coal demand is due in addition to meet the needs of existing power plants , as well as the number of projects the new steam power plant (power plant ) which will be operational in the near future .
He mentioned some of the power plant is scheduled to operate in 2014 as PLTU Pangkalan Susu 2×200 MW di Sumatera Utara, PLTU Sughe 16,5 MW di Belitung, PLTU Nagan Raya 190 MW di Aceh, PLTU Tenayan Raya 2×100 MW, PLTU Indragiri Hilir 14 MW yang keduanya di Riau, PLTU Holtekamp 20 MW di Papua, PLTU Gunung Seriang 14 MW di Kalimantan Utara, PLTU Timika 28 MW di Papua, PLTU Celukan Bawang di Bali, PLTU Amurang 2×300 MW di Sulawesi Utara, dan PLTU Pelabuhan Ratu 3×350 MW.
“The additional capacity this year most of the electricity comes from plants that use coal . This year there will be nearly 20 new power plant will operate , so the need for coal has also increased , ” said Helmi .
Generating capacity is planned to be the target of PLN power plant nearly 4,000 MW , and Helmi said the majority of plants in the works that will be operational in the year to 2016 . The target capacity of almost 4,000 MW power plant which is part of the project accelerated Fast Track Programme ( FTP ) of 10,000 MW Phase I.
According to data from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources ( MEMR ) , for this year the government requires 95.5 million tons of coal for domestic needs in the country and the largest allocation for PLN absorbed , followed for Independent Power Plant ( IPP ) , and for the cement industry .
